Service is expressed through giving
Faithful With What God Has Given
Every blessing comes from God. Our time, abilities, resources, and opportunities are gifts from Him. James 1:17 reminds us that “every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above.”
Because God is the giver, we are called to be faithful stewards. A steward manages what belongs to another. Paul wrote, “It is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy” (1 Corinthians 4:2).
Giving is one way we show gratitude and trust. Paul taught that Christians should give from the heart, “not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). God is not looking for empty gestures. He looks at the heart.
Stewardship is more than what we give financially. It includes how we use our time, talents, homes, influence, and opportunities to serve others and glorify God.
Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). Today, ask yourself: Am I using what God has given me for His glory?
Lord, all that I have is Yours. Help me use it well.
